Protein Smoothie

I like to have these smoothies after a good workout at the gym.  They are packed with flavor and the protein needed to replenish that which was lost.

You will need

  • 2 small frozen bananas.  I peel and slice my bananas and then put them in the freezer.  They are great to whoop up for a delicious summer treat for the kiddos too.
  • 2 Tbsp of peanut butter.  Creamy style.
  • 1 cup of almond milk
  • 1 scoop of whey protein powder.  It comes in chocolate and vanilla flavored.
  • 1 cup greek style yogurt
  • 1 tsp of agave nectar
  • Handful of ice cubes

Throw all the ingredients into a blender and blend well.

  1. Sounds yummy. I’d have to substitute sun butter or soy nut butter for the PB though, we’re a nut-free family due to allergies.

    I’ll skip the workout too. I saw an ambulance outside a gym once, confirming my suspicion that exercise is dangerous.

  2. I don’t do enough exercise to justify adding protien powder, so I’ll just enjoy the peanut butter, banana goodness for enjoyments sake! 😀 Sounds delicious, what about a big scoop of chocolate ice-cream too…or am I being too bad? 😉

    1. I have actually though about opening a smoothie place since we don’t have one here in my small little town. I love how healthy they are! I make ones packed with spinach, blueberries and coconut milk and my kids gulp it down.

  4. I have never had a protein shake before! How bad is that. I am going to give it a whirl now though. We are a nut free house though so will skip that bit. Hope it tastes as good as it looks!

  7. Frozen bananas are the best, I use them for tons of things. This smoothy looks great, I’m not sure about adding vodka though!! It made me laugh because it reminded me of the time my Mum had left instructions for my Dad to make almond milk. After he made it he sent a message saying it tasted lovely will Gin?!!
