It seems like lately all I do is play catch up! Laundry, housework, blogging, the DVR…repeat. Although I am so far behind in the DVRed shows that I still haven’t finished the most recent season of “The Following” and it ended months ago.
It doesn’t help that I have been on 2 camping trips in the past month either. I think I was still playing catch up from the first one when we ventured into the second. And ventured we did.
This trip started out fine and then my father caught a “puking” bug which then passed through every one of my toddlers at different intervals. One being in the middle of lunch at the “Olive Garden“. Luckily I had come prepared with a grocery bag in my purse in case the toddler from the night before decided to blow chunks like the exorcist had a repeat vomiting appearance. The first toddler got sick in the middle of the night and managed to at least make half of it into the toilet in the camper.
The final puking episode came yesterday on our voyage home. And to round the lovely trip up to a glorified completion would be mommy getting pulled over doing 96mph in a 70mph zone. I swear I had no clue I was going that fast until I saw the cop and thought to myself “wow, that’s the first cop I’ve seen today…wait why is he turning his lights on and turning around???…oh shit that’s because I am going 96mph”. **applies break and pulls over** I had trailed behind my husband, who was pulling the camper… all day…UNDER the speed limit, and the one time I speed ahead because I had to pee….I get pulled over! Really?! On the lighter side of that the nice highway patrolman at least lowered the price of my ticket from a whopping $700 to a mere $200. Still not what I want to spend $200 on but it is what it is.
And so now I play catch up. There’s at least 20 loads of laundry that need tended to…my blog commenting has been majorly neglected and with that I apologize to everyone.
Somewhere I have lost my linking up list…probably lurking in the piles of laundry…and without it…I am lost.
And I am sorry.
Please excuse my absence this week as I try my best to get caught up, possibly get a couple new posts written, get my house in somewhat of order, and blow up call my internet provider to see if perhaps there is a reason as to why it takes me 20 minutes for a page to load. I mean seriously…how long has internet been around now and this is the best there is in rural Nevada?
Whining her way to bedtime,
I am linking this post with the following linkys:
Oh boy! Hang in there! I only started my blog a few weeks ago, but I’ve had a few moments of WTF?!? I need 8,000 more hours in the day!

Wow! You’ve been busy. I love camping so I get it. Two trips is awesome. It sucks that your little ones got sick. That, alone, can be stressful. Hang in there. We will all still be here when you get back! BTW, love the new look on your page, especially the rainbow border around your header. xoxo

We’re due to go camping and now the thought of vomit has been added to my list of ‘things to go wrong’… 😱

It’s funny cause my kids NEVER get vomit kind of sick when we are home. It’s always on a trip somewhere. Craziness. Hope you have smooth sailing with no hiccups!

I really can’t complain as I have made some wonderful memories with my family…a few of which could be forgotten **wink wink** but now it’s time to concentrate on school starting and the laundry is half done…the washer and dryer have been in use since we walked in the door. Thank you for linking up lovely!

I love camping but it is hard work. Camping and ill children cannot be good in any shape or form. How awful. Take your time catching up. It is a good time to put things in perspective and let everything else drop. Hope you are all fully well soon. Kirsten

We all just need more hours in the day or a clone of ourselves. Of course my clone would do all the stuff I hate doing which pretty much is anything related to chores! Have a fabulous holiday and thank you for linking with #momsterslink

I was seriously sweating in my flip flops! I haven’t had a ticket in years so maybe he took pitty on me once he realized he was going to ruin my beautiful record ;o) I should have just handed him the bag of puke and said “could you please throw this away for me?…thanks so much! I think “reasons why you shouldn’t give mama a speeding ticket” is my next blog post.

You should have handed him the bag. It would have made him realise. Maybe it would have even made him spew. He would have had to been sympathetic 🙂

Yikes! You’ve been through the wringer! Glad the cop took some mercy and at least lowered the ticket. Eek!
Also – the one thing I don’t let fall behind is my DVR… my laundry yes, but not my DVR! 🙂

I feel like I am forever playing catch up, although I don’t think the summer holidays have helped.

Isn’t that the truth! I don’t think we as bloggers, are ever truly caught up! My problem is that I get sidetracked a lot when blogging. I will be trailing along and then think “oh lets get a wild idea and change our entire theme at midnight” lol

That’s the only downside of going on a holiday, a lot of laundry to do when you get home let alone unpacking the suitcase. However, going on a family holiday is still the best and it rocks. #momsterslink

Oh wow you have been very busy!! I’m totally with you re the puking bugs as we are actually in the middle of one!! I feel so awful today!! Nick has been vomiting all night and today my eldest one seems to be complaining so I bet she will get it. So only the little one is okay for now! grrr I hate it!! You are completely forgiven for not blogging while on your holidays although I missed you as you are an awesome blogger! BTW, I love the look of your blog, it looks amazing!! Thanks for hosting!! Oh man that sounds like the worst! I have only dealt with a puking episode twice and it was due to Seri having an unknown shrimp allergy where she then puked every 20 minutes for 4 hours….when it happened again we found the connection….I hope things slow down and you get that DVR break love! #momsterslink

In all honesty I would rather blog then watch tv. I feel like at least I am using my brain when I blog and learning new stuff about technology. Only late at night do I get around to the DVR when I have finally grown too tired to stare at the computer screen any longer nor is the brain functioning. So then I turn on shows like RHOBH cause that requires no brain usage what so ever to watch lol. Thanks for linking and leaving me a comment love!

Yep everyone is back to what we classify as normal around here. It hit my dad the worst. He had it for our entire few days we were gone. Spent most of his time in his own camper which I am sure he is glad he had.

At least you can’t say you are ever bored. Hope everyone has recovered from the sickness bug. My outlook on all the housework is, if it doesn’t get done it will still be there tomorrow (as no one else seems to know how to do it), and it doesn’t matter if it gets left another day

I have a teenager who has chores he has to do and I have even started with the 3 toddlers doing certain chores. But if I want things done the “right” way and thoroughly, I have to do it myself. I am OCD sometimes when it comes to the “way” to clean. And sometimes I just drink wine and ignore the mess lol. I like your analogy.

Bless you – what a nightmare! Hope they are all recovered now, I am glad that the cop reduced your ticket – $700 is immense for a speeding ticket!! Hope you manage to catch up honey xx #momsterslink
