When I was younger, I always cared about having nice things. I still like having nice things but what’s most important is being able to fulfill the lives of my children as a mother. To remember that even on the “bad mommy” days I’m still doing my best and being their mommy. I want them to grow up knowing that I was always there for them and always put them before anything else in my life. To know that I made a difference.
I am linking this with the fabulous Becky at Cuddle Fairy for her quote LINKY #candidcuddles.
Absolutely true. I completely agree with you. I wish the same for my 4yrs old.

I really do love the meaning of it…it’s so important for our kids to know they were loved.

I think this is so very important for own kids as well! This is paired well with Becky’s quote of the week about being the adult you want your kids to be. That’s my ongoing quest in life raising my boys. I can’t possibly expect them to be better if I’m not always trying to be better myself. Great quote Trista! Visiting from #candidcuddles

I look back at my childhood, and I’m so grateful that I had parents who lived by what this quote says. We didn’t have much, but my parents were (and still are) ALWAYS there for me, and I am forever grateful to them for the sacrifices they made and their endless devotion to being the best parents they could be. They’ve taught me what it means to be a good mom. Beautiful quote! Pinning, sharing, liking, tweeting, and all that jazz. xx

You are so blessed to have such good parents. I really hope that one day my kids say that about me. Thanks for the commenting and sharing…I have some blog catching up to do tomorrow as it’s been a very busy Sunday for me. 😘

I totally agree Trista. Possessions are nice to have but they can’t fill us with the love and pride we get from knowing how much time and effort we have put in to make a difference in our children’s lives and that is what we will remember in the end and quite rightly too.

Thanks Janine! I just never want my children to feel like I wasn’t there for them. I have had issues with this so much with my parents lately but if anything it makes me want to do differently.

This is so true, they do not remember what they had but, what they did and with who. A great reminder x x x

My biggest fear is failing as a mother. I think it’s all “good” mother’s fear.

This is the truth, the whole real truth. I’m giving you an “Amen”! I agree, things are nice, but now that I know better, love is better. And if we’re really lucky our kids will pass this on to their kids. Etc. Now that’s something worth inheriting.
