~National World Hello Day~

hello blogging taking a break timeout

I decided that since today is National World Hello Day that I would compile a little post to say hello to all my readers and fellow bloggers around the world, and let you all know what I have been up to lately.

Over the past month or so I have been taking a little break from “blogging consuming my life” and instead I have been working on my photography, going to the gym, and working on my family unit.

For such a long time, it just seemed like every free moment I had would be spent tending to my blog.  Mostly to hostessing two linkys, which for those of you who host linkys know how much time and effort it takes to run them suckers.  In the midst of this, my wonderful fellow blogger, co-hostess, and friend Becky at Cuddle Fairy and I decided to lay #foodpornthursdays to rest.  It was a great run but we both just realized that with our busy lives something had to give.

I have also had a chance to actually read some of the blogs that I had been neglecting due to the fact that I was always behind in commenting or always playing catch up with linking up to other linkys.  So please oh please don’t take it personally if I have not linked up with your linky in awhile for I have just taken a little time off.  Even adults need time outs sometimes and not just the kiddies.

blogging time off taking a break

But my biggest thing in my life right now (well besides the little monsters) has been my health.  Not just my physical but my mental health as well.  Hopefully someday I will write more about the mental part but for now I will keep it to the physical.

I wrote a recent piece about the types of people you may encounter at the gym.  It’s a good giggle if you are needing one.  My husband and I decided that it was time to change some things about ourselves starting with our lifestyles.  Everyone knows that you get comfortable in a marriage…you put on a few pounds…and the next thing you know you’re popping the buttons off your pants or not even bothering to button them at all. and the days of having sex with the lights on are long gone.  Candle light has pretty much been trumped too.  And it’s now boiled down to let’s play “find our parts in the pitch black dark”.

For those of you wondering if #momsterslink will return…it will be back after the holidays…Thursday Jan 7th to be exact.  In the meantime I will be back on the blogging front and easing my way back into things and just remembering the reason I began blogging in the first place.

  1. Well hello back at you 🙂 We’ll all miss #foodpornthursdays to be sure, but hosting linkys is hard work and hosting two? I don’t know how you managed! Looking forward to the return of momsters linky!

    1. My husband wanted to wait until after the holidays but I say “why wait? That’s just an excuse! Let’s start now!” He hasn’t been quite as motivated due to his work schedule but I am now to the point where I need to work out everyday even if it’s just a walk around the neighborhood

  2. Why, hello, Lady!!! Your graphics crack me up! I’ve missed #Momsterslink, and I’m so glad you’re going to bring it back! I think I may take at least a weeks off from blogging over the holidays, just for a break. I feel like family time is something I need, too. I know I’ve said this before, but I’m so happy that you’re doing well and taking time to do what makes you and your family happy! xx 🙂

    1. Thank you for this fabulous comment and taking the time to read my hello 😘 you are one awesome lady. Yes I was trying to decide when would be the best time to bring #momsterslink back and I figured new year…fresh start would be best. And the best part is I will be ahead of the New Years weight loss resolutions 👍🏼 it’s been almost a month that I’ve been working out and although the scale doesn’t say much…my clothes sure do…I’ve always hated scales anyway…especially when I know muscle weighs more than fat. 😉👌🏼

  3. Ahhhh lovely lady, sounds like you desperately need the time out. Don’t worry about linking up to linky’s, no one cares because there are always tons of other bloggers linking up. Your well being is so much more important than all that. Hope you find your balance real soon. Sending hugs xx

    1. Thanks so much Debbie! Taking some time to truly work on me was a much needed break and I am slowly working my way back into the saddle of blogging. I want to enjoy the holidays and my children and then have something to look forward to for the New Year. Good luck with your transition to a new platform and thank you so much for hostessing #AnythingGoes.

  5. I think you rock Trista so take your time and ease back into it as you see fit. I think it’s a great idea to wait until after the holidays to start your linky back up. I am looking forward to participating in it again. I have been struggling with blogging myself because of all of the other life stuff happening right now. My apartment is a mess because of the blogging, which means it has gotten disorganized and when my home is disorganized, my life gets disorganized so I’ve been trying to focus on getting my life organized again. Then there’s Thanksgiving coming up, to which I am hosting the family gathering, so my home needs a major cleaning. My oldest just turned 14 yrs old, and has been having some difficulty in school but we are working that out. Then Christmas and Conner’s birthday is right smack between Christmas and New Years. I’m also trying to fix my blog to make more sense for where I want it to go. Busy, busy, busy! I haven’t been working out, which is taking a toll on me physically and my stress levels are rising so I have to get that back too. I also just really want to spend more time with my kids and there is definitely not a lot of time in the day for all of it You’re a great blogger Trista! Love all of your posts. 1. Awwww what a great comment Michelle. I appreciate the love and the feeling is mutual. I love reading your stuff and you have always been so awesome about sharing and commenting on my posts. You are a great asset to the blogging world and so happy that we have become to know one another through the vast of thousands of bloggers. Take a time out if you need to girl….if the house is bothering you …the blogging can wait. The holidays are busy for everyone and I know quite a few who plan to be taking little breaks during them. I had a lot of personal stuff going on and just realized that I had more important things to work on at the time. I am getting back into the saddle slowly and I have come to realize that I had forgotten what I loved about blogging so much and that was just meeting other bloggers and finding awesome stuff to read. To take the time to really read related material to what’s going on in my life. The people who truly like to read your stuff will always be there. MUAH!

  6. I so get this. Sometimes I feel like I’m always playing catch up. I forsee a blog break in my future too. Maybe around the Christmas holidays as my parents’ house in Inverness is yet to join the world of high speed internet.

    1. Oh I am so familiar with living without high speed internet….rural internet is probably an addition to blogging taking up so much of my time. And if someone in my house is watching Netflix…well just forget the internet all together.

  7. Lovely to reconnect again Trista think it’s so important that we take time to get off the blogging treadmill to take care of you and your family…it can be all consuming! I am counting down the days to my blog break on 18th December woop woop. Hope you’re well lovely stopping by to say hello from #AnythingGoes xx

  8. It’s great to have you back blogging Trista. I’m glad you are taking it easy & will hold off on momsterlink for now. I LOLed at #foodpornthursdays grave. The poor linky! I miss it in a lot of ways but things were just too hectic. I’m off to read your gym post now 🙂 xx #anythinggoes
