Quote Of The Week ~ November 22, 2015

I felt this was appropriate since I am now almost a month into my fitness goal.  There are times I am at the gym and will look at someone and think “I want to look like that” or “I wish I had that kind of endurance”.  But I have to remind myself that hey, I am there…working at it…bettering myself…and that, in that moment, I’m stronger than I was the day before.  That it takes one moment at a time to becoming a better me.

  1. That is a great mindset to have when working out. I know that when I worked out in my twenties I would try to aspire to look like a celebrity but I never found satisfaction in that. Now, when I work out, especially when I don’t want to, I remind myself why I am doing it, to improve myself. Visiting from #candidcuddles

      1. I was actually told a year ago that I was borderline diabetic and my cholesterol was bad. The doctor prescribed me meds for the cholesterol which I haven’t been taking because I am trying to do it with diet, exercise and taking cinnamon which I have heard helps with blood sugar and cholesterol … I am no spring chicken and it’s much harder at 40 something to get into shape then it was when I was 20 something.

      2. I hear you. I am 38 and I am noticing how much harder it is for me to lose weight now compared to my twenties and even my early thirties. I have no physical health issues but I rely on exercise to help with my mental ones.

      3. It really is amazing how much exercise clears the mind and almost gives me a sort of high. I just hate the actual event of exercising…especially if I am really pushing myself ….it’s tiring but I feel so much better when I am done.

  2. They say that a person’s biggest competition is his or her self as opposed to others, and I believe it’s true. If you’re continuing to strive to meet your goals for the “right” reasons, you’ve already got half the battle won! Like you said, it’s all about you and how you feel! Amazing quote, as always! xx #candidcuddles

    1. It’s just amazing how much better the body feels when you fuel it right and exercise. Like now I am at the point where I HAVE to exercise everyday. Even if it’s just walking around the neighborhood which I might add has hills that would register a 12 incline on the treadmill. But the endorphins have truly become like a drug that you can’t get over the counter. I have been eating right everyday since Tuesday and plan to leave my cheat day for Thanksgiving where I will TRY not to overdue it. I have also been looking for healthy paleo appetizers. Thanks for the encouragement my friend…as always your words of wisdom enlighten me! muah!

  3. Fitness has never been my thing. In fact, I often wish I was as fit as the granddads I see running past our house.

Although I try to compensate by eating a lot of fruit and veg, I know it’s not the same as being fit. Keep up the hard work, it sounds like you’re doing well.

“It will hurt. It will take time. It will require willpower. It will require dedication. You will need to make health decisions. It requires sacrifice. You will need to push your body to its max. There will be temptation. But I promise you, when you reach your goal, it will be worth it.”

  4. That’s a great way to look at it Trista. When you start off with a new routine it can be hard not to compare yourself to others. You are doing so well! Keep up the amazing work x
