Quote Of The Week ~ April 17, 2016

I guess there’s quite a fine line between someone’s opinion of you and their critiquing of who you are.

It’s kind of like the old saying of “There’s no such thing as bad press”.

I’ve always considered myself pretty good at taking constructive critisicm.  I believe one cannot grow without knowing if others think they are good at something or need improvement.  As humans there are always ways to improve ourselves.

It’s called living.

And I would rather be noticed for saying, doing, and being me than to be a nobody.

I am linking this quote with the following fab linkys…

  1. I’m all for criticism until someone uses it to make themselves feel better or as a vehicle for making it known that they hold themselves higher and mightier than you. I love this quote because it reminds us not to take criticism harshly if it’s given out of love and good intention. You (not YOU, but people in general- lol) just have to learn the difference between positive and negative criticism and determine how best to accept or reject it. Can you tell I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately? Lol! 🙂

    1. I totally agree with you. Every word. I always look at it this way “those who are talking about you, are thinking about you, and something about you is enough for them to talk about it” Yes sometimes it may not be good but I just believe that those people are upset about something else in their lives and finding how misery loves company. I used to care when I would hear something bad about me…now I just brush it off. I know who I am. 😘 And I am sure so do you about yourself!

  2. Very true Trista, very true! It’s good to remind ourselves of this when there is criticism lol If there isn’t then we are doing something wrong. It’s lovely to have you back at Candid Cuddles again 🙂

    1. I am sorry that I missed a week. I feel like I have followed this linky since the start and has always been one of my favorites but sometimes life calls and I have to answer…dammit! lol. Thanks so much for hostessing.

  3. That is such a great way to look at it! 🙂 Constructive criticism really helps you grow, destructive criticism is all about the other person. This is my #Momsterslink comment as I’d already visited the post you linked up. Happy Friday 🙂

    1. Why thank you! And yes I believe there’s good and bad criticism. But if someone is coming at you with bad criticism it’s usually because they are lacking self confidence somewhere. Thanks for popping over and linking up :))
