Quote Of The Week ~ May 16, 2016

quotes, daughters, respect, motherhood, raising girls,

I see so many young girls today who have such low self esteem and absolutely no respect for themselves.

I remember the pressures of being young, fitting in, and thinking “that boy” who was paying you attention was so important.

I want to teach my daughters to think of themselves as being more important than the boy.  That the choices they make need to be made carefully.

Of course they are going to make mistakes and it’s my job as a mother to still love them but to guide them through the mistakes.  To listen instead of just criticize and to set an example by respecting myself.

  1. I think your point about setting an example of respecting yourself is the biggest point of all. Kids soak in what they see us doing. I think that’s the best way to teach your daughter to respect herself! Thanks so much for sharing with #candidcuddles x
